Huawei Band 6: A Budget-Friendly Fitness Tracker for 2021

Fitness trackers are an excellent alternative to smartwatches since they provide an easy way to collect all the data required from a person’s workouts. Enter the Huawei Band 6, an intriguing fitness tracker market that incorporates smartwatch-like functions in a thinner, more minimalistic form.

Build and design

The Huawei Band 6’s overall design is streamlined and small, with the metallic bezel providing a smooth finish that competing wearables at this price point lack. It bears a striking resemblance to the more expensive Huawei Watch Fit, although more rectangular.

Screen

The Huawei Band 6 features a 1.47-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 194×368 pixels and a screen-to-body ratio of 64%. The screen is reasonably bright, albeit there is considerable glare when exposed to direct sunlight. Fortunately, it does not readily collect fingerprints.

Band

The band is quite light, weighing approximately 18g. Additionally, it is comfortable to wear, even for extended periods. However, after hard exercise, my arm sweated profusely, necessitating the washing and drying of the band.

Due to the band’s athleisure aesthetic, it can work well as an accessory to compliment your athletic attire. This is not a wearable that could be mistaken for an everyday watch.

The Huawei Band 6 is navigated by swiping across the screen and tapping the right-hand side button. Additionally, it is 5ATM water-resistant and ideal for usage in a pool.

Features and Software

The all-new Huawei Band 6 supports up to 96 distinct fitness modes. However, the watch has exercises for jogging, walking, swimming in a pool, indoor cycling, cross-training, and machine rowing out of the box. The fitness tracker also features continuous heart rate monitoring, SpO2, and stress monitoring. These appeared to produce mainly accurate readings. Additionally, the band can track sleep and do standard administrative functions such as timers, alarms, weather, and receive notifications from your phone.

There is an option to enable auto-detect exercises, which means that the tracker will inform you to begin a workout mode if it detects that you are exercising and will stop when it detects that you are finished.

Moreover, the tracker includes a section for breathing exercises, where you may adjust the tempo to slow, moderate, or fast and the duration of the activity. This is a valuable tool for anyone who practices mindfulness or wishes to use the watch to reduce stress.

Verdict

The Huawei Band 6 is a value for money. It features a long battery life, a large and clear display, and a wide variety of training alternatives – all at an affordable price.

It influences the outcomes you see in your activity records. The Huawei Band 6 is a capable and reasonably priced fitness tracker. I would recommend it to anyone seeking a wearable in this price range without hesitation.
